Exploring Lombok is like travelling in other parts of Indonesia 20 years ago. There are fewer travellers than are found in many of the better-known provinces in the archipelago, the beaches are pristine, the volcanic mountain scenery is spectacular and the people are shy, but welcoming. The strong Muslim influence makes the culture in Lombok fascinating and quite different from its better-known neighbour, the predominantly Hindu Bali.

We start in Bali, in lively Legian. From here we catch the ferry the next morning to Lombok. Our first port of call is Kuta (the Lombok version)) where we spend time soaking up the sun on beautiful sandy beaches. Next we journey north to explore the region dominated by the mighty Rinjani Volcano. The trekking in this area is superb, and the atmosphere very relaxing. We then travel around Rinjani and head to the west coast where we spend a couple of days in Senggigi with its wonderful beaches and take a trip to the beautiful Gili Islands.

Not Included: International flights, arrival and departure transfers, departure and airport taxes, visas, all other meals, all optional tours or activities during free time, transfers outside of the tour program, travel insurance, tips and items of a personal nature. Please note that you will need book your own airline ticket out of Lombok. You will also need to pay airport tax when flying out of Lombok.
Meals: Allow US$105 for additional meals. On tour we generally do not include meals, as this gives you the flexibility to go out and make your own choices as far as what to eat and where to go and eat. This flexibility reflects the very nature of Gecko's tours. Your tour leader will always be on hand to offer recommendations and, in many cases, organise group meals that introduce you to the local specialities. These meals are optional.
