SHIP FEATURES:The Ryndam, one of Holland America’s newest ships, is a graceful vessel that exudes Holland America’s “Standard of Excellence” program. While large enough to offer every modern amenity, the ship is not as large as many of the new gargantuan-sized vessels. Fresh flowers are found everywhere on the ship. Gracious service is provided by Indonesian and Filipino service staff, alongside Dutch officers. Staterooms are larger than most competing cruise ships, adding to your enjoyment, and the rooms include all luxury amenities to be expected on a fine ship such as this.

The Main Restaurant is beautiful, with a balcony level and magnificent chandeliers, and features live music during many dinners. For breakfast or lunch (and dinner, too, if you don’t wish to “dress up”), the popular Lido Restaurant is the spot, and Holland America is know for having the best Lido–style restaurants afloat. Afternoon Dutch Tea is always a delght! The ship even features a “Magrodome” swimming pool, where a glass roof slides over the pool in case of inclement weather.

ITINERARY: Sail from Vancouver to the Inside Passage, Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, College Fjord, then cruise ends in Seward (for Anchorage); transfer to Anchorage airport, fly to Fairbanks, visit Historic Gold dredge and pan for gold; overnight at Fairbanks; Take the luxury-domed rail–car McKinley Explorer to Denali National Park. Enjoy the Denali Natural History Tour, then overnight at Denali. Travel on the McKinley Explorer to Anchorage, overnight in Anchorage, then fly home the next day.
