Caroline

Caroline was built in Holland in 1928 as a cargo carrying 'Tjalk', transporting goods between the islands of the North Sea and the mainland. Today, converted into a comfortable hotel barge, Caroline is offering accommodations for up to 6 guests, great service and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.

Cruising through the heart of the South of France along the fabled Canal du Midi at her very best, from the possible visits of French attractions to the weather where sunshine is the norm and rain the exception.

Owners Ute and Uli have designed and outfitted Caroline for the ultimate comfort of 6 guests.

She comes with 3 beautifully-appointed air conditioned staterooms, all with the comforts of living at home. Caroline boasts three staterooms, one with double bed and ensuite bathroom and two cabins with twin beds and separate bathrooms with shower directly across the hall. There is also a spacious mahogany living room/dining salon that will draw you into the warm subdued atmosphere of an old barge. You can relax with your friends around the fireplace, watch a video or listen to some music.

Caroline also has a large and beautifully decorated flowered sun deck sun deck laid with a carpet. Enjoy relaxing on the sundeck with a cool drink or sit on the bench in front of the steering postion under a shady umbrella watching the wonderful French countryside passing by.

Along the way you will be able to visit medieval villages, stroll through local markets or enjoy culinary delights in a local Auberge. Visit one of the many vineyards and taste the wonderful wines of the Languedoc. The mild climate and the relaxing and friendly atmosphere will make your holidays unforgettable.

While on board you will be treated to gourmet delights in French cooking, unparalleled on the Canal du Midi.
